Arthur Hiller (CEO)

Arthur Hiller (CEO) provides a breadth of health care industry experience as a senior level executive in marketing, sales, business development, manufacturing and distribution. Mr. Hiller has played a lead role in major Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology and Managed Care Companies, as well as more entrepreneurial Medical Marketing and Education businesses. As Senior Vice President at Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Arthur launched and managed the successful product re-branding and re-positioning of Integrilin, an anti-platelet agent for ACS  patients (acute coronary syndrome), resulting in multi-year double digit growth and annual sales exceeding $350 million.  Prior to joining Millennium, Mr. Hiller held Vice President Positions at Merck, Merck-Medco and Meded Healthcare. At Meded Arthur also served as COO tripling revenues from $6.5 to $21 million over a five year period.  In each of these positions Mr. Hiller had responsibility for development of alliances, joint ventures, and licensing and other business opportunities to support strategic initiatives. Mr. Hiller began his career with Lederle and Ayerst Laboratories, where he held positions of increasing responsibility in sales, sales management, training, product management and licensing.  Arthur holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Northwestern University and a Master’s Degree in Business Policy from Columbia University.

Carl Rebert (President and COO)

Carl Rebert (President and COO) has over twenty years of medical device business experience including senior management roles in both start-up and public companies. Prior to the formation of Heartscape, from 2002 to 2004, Mr. Rebert served as President of the PRIME Business Unit of King Pharmaceuticals, Inc.  Previously, Mr. Rebert was the President and CEO of Vesta Medical, a venture-backed medical device start-up developing minimally invasive surgical technology that was eventually sold to Pfizer for greater than five times invested capital.  As the VP, General Manager of the largest division of Circon Corporation, an endoscope device business, Carl was responsible for sales growth of approximately 15% per year in a mature market, doubling sales during his management tenure to $75 million.  Mr. Rebert earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and an M.B.A. from California State University.

Donald Foscato (Chief Financial Officer)

Donald Foscato (Chief Financial Officer) is a seasoned financial executive with over 40 years of senior level experience. Prior to joining Heartscape, from 2004 to 2006, Mr. Foscato was the Chief Financial Officer of Eye-Tel Imaging, Inc., a medical device company. Previously, from 2001 to 2003, he served as the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of MIM Corporation, a publicly traded pharmacy benefit management company.  He has served as the Chief Financial Officer of several other public companies during his career including Telecredit, Inc., Century 21 Real Estate Corporation, Smiles, Inc. and Carlson Travel Group, Inc.  Mr. Foscato began his financial career as a Senior Auditor with Price Waterhouse.  He holds a BBA in Accounting from University of Notre Dame and an MBA from California State University at Dominguez Hills.

Paul Curley (Vice President Marketing)

Paul Curley (Vice President, Marketing) spent nearly 25 years at Merck and Co. in a wide range of sales, market research, marketing, and customer management roles. Paul focused a large portion of his efforts at Merck in the area of cardiovascular disease, including roles as Executive Director of the Merck Hypertension and Heart Failure franchise, and as Executive Director, reporting to the Division President, of the Anti-Platelet and Ophthalmic Business Group. Paul left Merck in 2003 to join Target Rx, a start-up market research and data consulting firm. After spending nearly two years there as Vice President and General Manager, leading development of strategy and helping build infrastructure and client base, Paul became an independent consultant. Paul earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Ursinus College.

Kim Hillis (Vice President Sales)

Kim Hillis (Vice President, Sales) has eighteen years of sales management experience working in start-ups in the cardiovascular area. Kim was the first field manager hired at COR Therapeutics to launch INTEGRILIN for acute coronary syndromes. As Vice President of Sales at Scios, KIm was responsible for building the Scios sales organization from the ground floor. As a result of Scios’ successful launch of Natrecor for acute decompensated heart failure, the company was purchased by Johnson & Johnson. Following the acquisition, she integrated the Centocor cardiovascular sales team creating one of the largest hospital cardiovascular sales teams in the country. Kim earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Central Arkansas and an MBA from Pepperdine University.

Paul Phillips (Vice President Bangor Operations)

Paul Phillips (Vice President Bangor Operations) has a broad experience of product design, project management and product support garnered over the past 20 years from such diverse fields as medical devices, avionics system design and assessment, helicopter design and maintenance, and shipbuilding.  Prior to the formation of Heartscape, Mr. Phillips held senior engineering positions within the Meridian Medical Technologies subsidiary of King Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and led design teams in the development and launch of seven new products, two of which, including PRIME, received the Millennium Award for innovation by the British Design Council, as well as The Queen’s Award, the highest honor given a business by the UK government.  Along the way, he has spearheaded Meridian’s interaction with the Northern Ireland government securing significant financial funding in support of various development projects.  Mr. Phillips has advanced engineering degrees from both Cambridge and Cranfield and was awarded the MBE in 1995.
